Bill Aslett

Bill Aslett was born and spent his early years in southern Idaho.  He graduated first from Highline College and then from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He and his wife moved several times early on but when they arrived in Burlington in 1986, his wife informed him this was home from now on!

Bill’s first career was managing stores around the Northwest for a local drugstore chain. In 1999, he began his second career in the healthcare field, becoming a successful National Account Manager for an international company.

For the past 40 years, Bill has been extremely involved with the local community, first as a Cub scout leader and as a coach for many youth soccer, baseball, and softball teams.  More recently, he was on several advisory boards for B-E Schools, the Board of Directors for United Way of Skagit County, as well as the Board of Directors for Western Washington Alumni Association. Currently, he is one of the Community Board Directors for PeaceHealth-United General. Bill’s wife, Vicki has been very involved in the community as well, working with the Burlington Edison School District, Friendship House and the Children’s Museum of Skagit County. They have three children who all started and graduated from Burlington Edison schools.

Bill’s involvement with the City of Burlington began in 1999 when he was appointed to a vacant position on the City Council. He has been elected by the voters to serve on the council seven times since then.

“Burlington has been a wonderful place for our family. It is my honor to have the opportunity to give back to the community.”
