Did you know?
Burlington is home to one of the largest collections of horseshoe pits in the region! Whether you’re a seasoned pitcher or just looking for a fun outdoor activity, the 24 horseshoe pits at the south end of Skagit River Park are the perfect place to play.
The Skagit Valley Horseshoe Club, founded in 1970, partnered with Burlington Parks and Recreation in 1998 to install the pits - creating a welcoming space for both casual recreation and competitive tournaments. Each year, the site hosts local and state-wide events, attracting players from across Washington, the West Coast, and even Canada.
Horseshoe Pits & Availability
The horseshoe pits may be reserved for specific dates and times, either individually or in combination with the adjacent picnic shelter, when not in use by the Skagit Valley Horseshoe Club.
Skagit Valley Horseshoe Club
The Skagit Valley Horseshoe Club holds regular league play on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, April through October. Newcomers are always welcome, and horseshoes are available to borrow during club play.
The Club hosts two annual tournaments:

Strawberry Open – Second Saturday in June
