Skagit County Veterans Day Parade
Veterans Day Parade is Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11am
We are currently accepting Parade Entries for the 2022 Skagit County Veterans Day Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, November 12 at 11am in downtown Burlington. Groups, clubs, individual community members and organizations are welcome to join in the Veterans Day Parade. Parade Entry Applications are now being accepted now through the City of Burlington Parks and Recreation Department.
DSLR 1 and 2 Photography Classes
Fall Classes are Open for Registration
Take your photography skills to the next level and try out one of Andy Porter's DSLR Photography Classes. DSLR Beginner and Intermediate Classes are being offered at Maiben House in Burlington for the next couple of months. These two-hour classes are sure to increase your ability using your DSLR camera, just in time for fall, so you can capture the colors of the season.
Bird Decoy Carving and Painting
Eight-Week Series Begins Wednesday, October 5
Adults and kids alike can learn how to carve and paint bird decoys this fall. Kurt Benson from the Washington Brant Foundation will be teaching an 8-week series of classes that will teach you how to hand carve a Red Head Duck. Classes will be held from 4-6pm on Wednesdays from 10/5-11/23 at Maiben House in Burlington. Register for this class and others in our Recreation Catalog.
Kids Giant Garage Sale
Saturday, November 5 from 9am to 12pm
This is the sale where kids make and take the cash! Looking to sell a few gently-used items from your home in garage-sale fashion? Why not let your kids host their own sale? Join us on November 5 from 9am to 12pm at the Burlington Community Center for our Kids Giant Garage Sale. Kid vendors can reserve a booth for $20 and host their very own sale that is open to the public.
