City of Burlington Sports Leagues NEW developments!
As the weather begins to turn and the sun begins to shine on the Skagit Valley again, I know all of you are thinking about the ways in which you are itching to get outside and play! Enjoying our parks, walking downtown, playing sports, summer events and more; I know that everyone is excited to get back out into the community. We're preparing to ramp up our summer activities, and are excited about this year's sports league offerings.
First, I would love to introduce myself! My name is JP Kunze, your new Recreation Specialist. I am the newest team member to the Burlington Parks and Recreation crew. I cannot wait to see you all in the parks and on the field this summer!
Registration is now open for both the B-EYS Recreational Soccer League and our brand new Jr. Co-ed Sand Volleyball League.
Burlington-Edison Youth Soccer is thrilled to invite you back to Skagit River Park this fall for another year of recreational youth soccer. If you are unfamiliar with B-EYS, we would love to welcome you to join us! Youth soccer is often many kids' entry point into team sports and organized play and is great for meeting new friends, team building skills, motor skills, and outdoor time with family. B-EYS emphasizes FUN for your children, while building quality connections with sport and peers. Teams are offered for all children aged 5-14. Registration is open through June, practice starts in August, and games will begin in September.
Also open for registration now through June 12, is our brand new league for teens who are interested in playing 4v4 Co-ed Sand Volleyball at Rotary Park in Burlington. The league is for anyone ages 13-19 (incoming 7th graders to outgoing seniors) who want to play in a weeknight league starting June 21. There will be beginner and advanced divisions, so we ensure you will have a good time no matter your experience level. This league will be a great way to exercise, hang out with other teens, and be outside. Each team will get to play two matches each Tuesday night for 6 weeks (12 games total), followed by a weekend tournament to culminate the season. Prizes for the winner of the season and tournament will be awarded. Registration is $120 dollars per team. Tell all of your friends, and we will see you on the sand!
Thanks everyone for tuning in to our Parks and Rec Community Spotlight. We can’t wait to see you on the fields, courts, and parks!
