Fall Soccer Registration Begins Next Week
Recreational soccer marks the first team playing experience for many children in and throughout Skagit County. With team goals primarily devoted to learning the great game and growing a love for the sport, many kids look forward to a fun soccer season each fall.
Registration opens May 1 and continues through June 30. This recreational league is for ages 5-13; all skill levels are welcome. For additional information and to register for the 2022 season, check out the B-E Youth Soccer Page. We'll have more information about Team Sponsorship, Coaching and more in the coming weeks.
Co-Ed Junior Sand Volleyball League
NEW! Youth Sports League in Burlington
Burlington Parks and Rec is starting up a NEW Co-Ed Junior Sand Volleyball League this summer. This co-ed league is open to kids in 7th to 12th grade (ages 13-19). Games and end of season tournament will be held at the Rotary Park Sand Volleyball Courts in Burlington.
Sand volleyball is challenging and FUN! Kids can expect to improve their hand-eye coordination and teamwork skills during their time in the league. There will be two different levels of play, beginner and advanced, so gather your team and get ready to play! Sign up as a team of four to ten players, or as an individual "free agent" to be placed on a team before the season begins. Registration begins next week!
Puget Sound Open Decoy Carving Competition
Saturday, May 14 from 9am to 3pm
Mark your calendar and join us at Maiben Park on Saturday, May 14 from 9am to 1pm for the Puget Sound Open Decoy Carving Competition. The Washington Brant Foundation is hosting this event that will draw a crowd of decoy carving artists to come and compete with one another. Living in an area with such rich outdoor resources, the heritage of decoy carving is still alive and well! This is a neat opportunity to interact with folks who support wildlife conservation in our area.
Interested in learning how to carve duck decoys of your own? There are adult and youth classes going on now for folks to learn the skill of Bird Decoy Carving and Painting here in Burlington.
