We're full swing into hiring season for various part-time, seasonal positions within the Parks and Rec Department. Have you ever wanted to help plan and implement various recreational programs and activities in our city? Now's your chance to join our team! We're hiring a seasonal Parks and Recreation Intern who will be an integral part our summer programs, a seasonal Recreation Assistant and others to help us make the summer a success. Infield Dirt: Diamond Dust at Skagit River Park
A Little Bit of Trivia: Get Excited about Dirt!
While trying to resist sounding like an ad for dirt... we have to share about ours! The infield dirt at Skagit River Park is fantastic. We use a product called, "Diamond Dust" for our infields, and it's some high-quality stuff! The company we purchase from is based in Idaho, and offers a porous material that is organic, 100% pumice, absorbs water and drains really well. It's very easy to maintain and low cost (even more reason to like it!). As the weather keeps warming up, swing on over to the park to watch some baseball, cheer on the little league players and check out the infields while you're there.

85th Annual Berry Dairy Days this Summer!
Help us continue to make Berry Dairy Days a success this coming summer and consider being a sponsor for one of Skagit Valley's oldest festivals celebrating all things agriculture and farming.
Burlington Parks and Recreation is looking to enhance the Berry Dairy Days Fireworks "Friday Night Kick Off" show this year! We are looking for two (2) sponsors at $2500 or one (1) sponsor at $5000. With several thousand people in attendance on Friday June 17, we'll be kicking off a weekend full of activities as we head into
Berry Dairy Days. There will be a live band Friday night, food trucks, a free Kids Zone and more. The evening ends with a 15-20 minute fireworks show that you won't want to miss!
