Awesome Materials for our Parks (and kids!)
Engineered Woodchips in Burlington Playgrounds
Because you may care about our parks as much as we do... we thought to share a fun tidbit about our play surfaces here in Burlington. Our playgrounds have recently been given new woodchips, and they're great! Specifically, the chip material is Engineered Wood Fiber, or EWF. Benefits to using this material include: an easy surface to fall on (for our kiddos who love the monkey bars), low cost installation, and an attractive, natural look. Once settled, the EWF chips create a layer that's easy to move on for a variety of mobility devices including walkers and wheelchairs.
Head over to Maiben Park or down to Skagit River Park to check out the new EWF under the playgrounds and maybe play a game of 'Hot Lava Monster' while you're there.
