Library Telescope Checkout
The Burlington Public Library has two Orion StarBlast 4.5 feet telescopes that you can check out for one week with your Burlington Public Library card.
The telescopes were donated by Island County Astronomical Society and they help support it with occasional classes and their own meetings to share information and activities. This is part of a national program established by the New Hampshire Astronomical Society.
They have videos on their website that explain the process of check out.
It’s a great family activity and there lots of books in our library to introduce you to the skies. The telescopes are loaned out for one week at a time. We anticipate requests to be high throughout the spring and summer months.
To be placed on the list to check it out or for more information, please Contact us.
Other libraries in Skagit County offer this service also.
