Photography Classes with Andy Porter

Bright colors, cool air, bold skies... October is a great month to sharpen your photography skills. Learn from local talent Andy Porter in this popular series of classes--take one or take them all!

Class Details: "Better Pictures with Your DSLR"

Day/Time: Thursday, Oct 8 (6-9pm)
Ages:        Adults and teens 12+
Fee:          $40
Location:  Burlington Parks & Rec Center

Quality images start with understanding manual exposure. In this three-hour workshop, learn to use settings to create the image you want: bracketing your exposure, polarizers, and the benefits of capturing images in the RAW Format, and more. LOTS of hands-on and opportunities to ask questions. Come with your camera and manual!

Class Details: "Compose a Perfect Picture"

Day/Time: Thursday, Oct 20 (6-9pm)
Ages:        Adults and teens 12+
Fee:          $40
Location:  Burlington Parks & Rec Center

Having “an eye” for photography is an acquired skill. This class covers the basic rules of composition: subject placement; use of the horizon; reflections; leading lines; the Rule of Thirds; framing; and more. Hands-on study in the classroom and also outdoors during class, to practice. All types of camera-owners will benefit from this class!

Class Details: "Basics of Photo Editing"

Day/Time: Tuesday, Oct 27 (6-9pm)
Ages:        Adults and teens 12+
Fee:          $40
Location:  Burlington Parks & Rec Center

Once you get the perfect shot, editing on the computer is an important next step in creating the final image. The human eye can see much more than the camera can possibly capture. This class is for users of Photoshop, Lightroom, and Elements.
