Capture Awesome Images with your DSLR Camera - Level 1 Basics

Wednesday, September 20

In this class you will learn how to shoot in manual mode, how to set aperture and shutter speed (and ISO!) to get the best possible shots. We will cover how to bracket your exposure, the use of polarizers, the benefits of capturing images in the RAW Format and more. There will be LOTS of hands on and opportunities to ask questions. Class is designed for adults and kids 12 & up. Andy is a professional photographer based here in Skagit County. His work has been featured in many magazines and travel guides. You can see more of Andy’s work online at www.northwesternimages.com

Taking pictures with your new DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex) Camera is easy, just set it on Auto and shoot away! BUT, capturing better pictures with your new DSLR… that’s harder.

Quality photography starts with understanding how to set your exposure manually. This is NOT difficult to do. This 3-hour workshop covers aperture and shutter speed and you learn how to adjust them on your camera.

Next, we discuss how to use these settings to create the image you want. Bracketing the exposure is a very key part of and will set you on the right path.

We also cover the use of polarizers and capturing images in the RAW format.
