Volunteering at BPL

Give back to your community, meet new people, and get valuable experience for your resume or college applications all at the same time! Read about teen volunteer opportunities, then email your application to Jenny Cole or drop off your completed application to apply. Please indicate which opportunities you are most interested in on the application.

Being a volunteer is fun and a great way to fulfill community service requirements as well as get a feel for what it’s like to have a job. Because of this, we prefer that teens visit or contact us themselves to demonstrate their responsibility and reliability. After applying, you will be contacted to schedule a brief 15 minute interview if opportunities are available. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

We will try our best to accommodate your community service needs, but due to the scheduling of programs and limited staff time BPL cannot guarantee hours for everyone that applies nor always accommodate last-minute requests. Please reach out well before any community service deadlines to improve your chances of volunteering with us.
